Young people between the ages of 13 and 21 often find that books written for adults do not appeal to them. They want stories where exciting, extraordinary, and enthralling events happen. When it comes to painful matters like emotional illness, abuse and bullying, they want stories that address these issues head on. Fortunately, there are many books written specifically for this age group. When looking online for young adult book reviews, thousands of results appear.

There are many different people who become book reviewers. Some do it as a full time profession and are paid to review. Others just enjoy sharing about books they have enjoyed. People of all ages write them and some are more qualified to do so than others. This makes it difficult to know which ones to read and trust.

One of the ways to know that a review is honest is if it is written by a friend. This is where social networking sites can be helpful. They provide a way of finding out what friends are reading and what they thought about certain books. This is particularly helpful if the friend likes the same kind of books.

Some review sites stand out above the others. One finds mention of them on many blogs and sites devoted to listing the best places to find books. When going to such a site, one simply selects a genre. Under the specific genre, one can find books suited to a particular age group. An advantages of belonging to such a site is that recommendations may given based on what has already been read.

When joining a review site run by peers, this offers an opportunity to relate to others of the same age in a unique way. Perhaps some of the reviews are not polished and they may even be badly written. However, they are often brutally honest. Sometimes they are glowingly enthusiastic and this may just spark a response. A site like this will often have lists of books read most recently and provide updates on new books.

It is also possible to follow a favorite author on Twitter and this may be another way to find the most suitable books. One may even find out more about a new book being written in a popular series in this way. Authors may also tweet recommending other authors or novels in a similar style.

Some individuals have enjoyed reading as a child but but once they reach adolescence they have all the distractions of social media and also feel that books written by adults are irrelevant to them. It is worth encouraging them to give online platforms a try and they may just change their minds. They may discover books they can really relate to, especially when they interact with others of their own age group and discuss certain novels together.

They may just become hooked on reading for life when they become involved in interacting with others of their own age and sharing information on such an online platform. They may even discover new genres they have not previously considered attempting to read. The excitement of another reader of the same age can be contagious.

There are a wealth of opportunities online for young adults today. This type of literature is becoming extremely popular, to the extent that even many adults are reading these books. Sites have numerous ways to encourage reading from holding contests, establishing fan clubs, giving information about favorite authors and allowing users to establish virtual bookshelves.
