Calamity can be on your door any moment from now. It could be next year, next month or today. This can be very sudden and fears. From one moment you are safe until the next hour, you noticed yourself grasping for your life. You cannot, after all, underestimate the nature. The effect might be too massive that you would feel it even in a week or month.

Nobody knows when it will last. It can be for a day, week and even for a month. The impact and damage can affect the rehabilitation period. Not to mention the ability of your government to address this issue. When things turn as a game for surviving the grid going down, you must play your part to win.

You would be exposed to an environment with no sign of human civilization. You will be out of heat protection especially in winter. When it happens, expect more terrible things such as lack of supplies with your food and water. There is no direct accessibility to hospitals and all the road will be blocked. It might not happen at the same time and hopefully, it would not.

Hospitals will be inaccessible. Roads are blocked, Houses had been torn apart. Cries can be heard from left to right. You will be lucky to survive from the calamity but honestly, you will face many challenges after it. Pray that it would not take place during winter. Nobody can surely survive long without getting a good source of heat.

Therefore, as much as possible, you need to be prepared. This is the time in your life that you cannot run away. Considering things right now before it happen will truly save you someday. Here are few of the things you can do for future preparation.

Secure your property. Your house will protect you against these things. Hence, if you are capable, you shall build one that can stand up against floods and even earthquake. Modern house structure has a new technology applied to withstand the specific intensity of an earthquake. Furthermore, it should also be able to withstand from tremendous force of water and wind.

Stock foods and water. You may survive after the calamity but you would not last long without these. Hence, as for now, assure that you have replenished your cabinet with enough amount of water and food intended for emergency used. Keep this as a practice and remember to replace them every month with the new supplies you had bought. It would be best to put it into places where water can reach it right away.

Prepare a medicine kit. Due to the scattered and flying debris, there is a great chance that someone from your family will get hurt. Hence, you need to have antibiotics to prevent any infection. Furthermore, always consider to include aspirin and paracetamol in your kit. With the poor temperature and ventilation, expect that your children will be exposed to fever.

Keeping supply from another power source. Battery and generator. Make sure that you have either of those things. You will be needing it for your flashlight, radio and communication devices. It will be a good heat source too.
