By Susan Cox

Katy lived a hard lifetime. She did not deserve any of it either. All she wants is to fly high and be a pilot of some kind. To feel the air above the clouds and see herself be far away from the ground. And no one would blame her from wanting this after all the things she went through. Do not scorn her for wanting away from all that. Even you admit that our world is full of bad things. Sometimes, it just feels refreshing to forget we live in this cruel life. That is why she is Flying High Soaring Above Tragedies Of Life.

It takes guts to write and publish the horrible things that had happened to you in the past. You have to at least be very brave to admit to yourself that, yes, your lifetime was not a good one but I still choose what I want to do with it. And brave is exactly what Katy Rovetto is.

There are tips on how to handle them and there is therapy. But then if these are known to be so good why are people still dying then? Why are we still so sad and filled with hopelessness and self hate? Why are we still struggling every morning every time we wake up and have the heavy feeling in our chests?

In retrospect, maybe it is not the doctors to blame here but the human race itself. The only reason we have these issues and problems is because we are so goddamn emotional. Or worse, emotionless. We humans are so complicated and our own enemies are ourselves to be honest. We create our own problems and then have the gall to complain about it.

Because your kid deserves happiness and it is unfair to let him grow up with your depression peeking out a lot. You love him and he is precious. So what do you do except to hide your issues from him and from everyone to avoid getting hurt again and to protect your light?

It is sad that we have become like this. Or maybe issues like this has also been common back then and just was not as voiced out as it is now. Famous people, especially artists, struggle with this every day. We keep losing them to suicide without even knowing that they were depressed and tired to begin with.

Katy does her best. She still has her passions and they are alive inside her despite life beating it and her down. Normally, people stop and just give up on a dream after countless others did their best to tear it away from you. But not Katy. She stayed put for herself and her son.

What would have happened though if she had no son to pull her up? If she was alone and had no one to remind her that life still is beautiful despite how much it seems to hate her. If her first live did not leave her with something or someone to remind her of him. Would she still be alive? Would her bravery be absent?

Whatever the case, the next few years are going to be harder. If we could just fly away like Katy does, would we be happier? Or is happiness really subjective and not change a thing for us since we are so stubborn?
